Yeah yeah, sel-care… but how to include it in my routine?

How many of us have wanted to apply some healthy self-care ideas and yet they vanished after a week or less! If you raised your hand, don’t feel guilty, I raised mine too! and searching about how to transform self-care routines into habits, found an interesting article on lifegoalsmag.com that seems it possible!

Sure, social outings, salon appointments, and gym sessions might be considered self-care, but at its core self-care is about regular activities that help you recharge and make you feel good. True, maybe some days you’re not going to feel good ALL DAY, but in general you will feel it. Therefore, here are 4 tips to get you started:

  1. Don’t do things that you hate: seems obvious, but sometimes we see some ideas that could be nice to try out even when you have never into it. It’s not that you’ll never be able to try new things, but if your trying to stick to some self-care routines, you should start with the ones you like the most and make you happy ;) and then incorporate the new one you’ve always wanted or just be curioused about.

  2. Plan ahead and schedule it: make it official! Schedule in your calendar and set reminders if you need to. You could start with 15 or 30 minutes just for yourself. Remember its not once in a blue moon, it should be daily. You can focus on different types of self-care ideas to not get bored.

  3. Keep your routine simple: It’s important to remember that it doesn’t have to be lengthy, complicated or cost money. Could be just as simple like changing your minset that a time for you each day is essencial. The whole point of having a daily self-care routine is to help you recharge and relax, so make it as simple as you need it to be to fit into your lifestyle.

  4. Remain flexible: There are some days that will be easier to practice self-care and others that it might seem impossible. Don’t be too hard on yourself and remember that every day is a fresh start to get back to it. A simple trick could be having a list of different things you like ranked in terms of the required amount of time, so when your agenda is pretty busy you could pick the short ones and other days the longest ones.

So… you see its not one size fits all. There are different likes and dislikes for each person, and for that the ideas for self-care routines sould be personal. Remember those ideas could be of different types of self-care: physical, emotional, spiritual, mental or social.

We would love to hear your thoughts about this topic! Which type of self-care you find easier in your current routines, and whick one you feel like you could improve it by focusing on a bit more?
